Quality IL-6 ELISA Kit - Cost-Effective and Efficient
Quality IL-6 ELISA Kit – Cost-Effective and Efficient for Your Research!
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) is a multifunctional cytokine involved in regulating immune responses, inflammation, and hematopoiesis (1). It is produced by numerous cell types, including T cells, B cells, macrophages, and fibroblasts. IL-6 plays a crucial role in mediating the body’s response to infections and tissue damage. It promotes the activation of immune cells, stimulates the production of acute-phase proteins, and influences metabolic and regenerative processes (1). Elevated levels of IL-6 are associated with chronic inflammatory diseases, autoimmune disorders, and certain cancers, making it an important biomarker for disease diagnosis and monitoring. Due to its pivotal role in immune regulation, IL-6 is a key target for therapeutic interventions in inflammatory conditions.
In addition to its general functions, IL-6 is implicated in the pathogenesis of several diseases. In cardiovascular diseases (CVD), elevated IL-6 levels contribute to atherosclerosis by promoting inflammation within arterial walls, leading to plaque formation and instability, which can result in heart attacks and strokes. Additionally, elevated IL-6 levels, commonly detected in various neurodegenerative disorders, suggest its potential utility as a biomarker for disease progression and prognosis (3, 4).
